Native American chef Crystal Wahpepah brought some Indigenous flavor to national television with an appearance on the Food Network’s kitchen-competition program, Beat Bobby Flay.

Crystal was recognized for being a leader in the Native American community. She champions health and culture in her work. District 5 Council-member Noel Gallo awarded Crystal the honor on behalf of the city. Other leaders in the Native American community were also honored for their work in various fields: Corrina Gould, Smoke Johnson, Joey Montoya, and Noel Gallo.
Native American Almanac
Crystal was listed in the largest single-volume reference work about Native American culture available today. The almanac features more than 50,000 Years of the Cultures and Histories of Indigenous Peoples.

American Indian Film Festival (AIFF)
Crystal catered the 2019 American Indian Film Festival (AIFF)! AIFF is an annual non-profit film festival in San Francisco, California, United States. It is the world's oldest venue dedicated solely to Native American/First Nations films and prepared the way for the 1979 formation of the American Indian Film Institute.
